Tips for playing with EXIT toys sand and water table

An EXIT Toys sand and water table allows for endless hours of playing and discovering. And not just with sand and water, but also with lots of other materials! It stimulates your sense of imagination. A sand and water table is not just fun, but also educational. Are you curious about what you can do with a sand and water table? We have some ideas to share with you:

Sand and water

Sand and water are great fun to play with, especially because you can do so in many different ways. You can choose to play with just water or sand, but it is even more fun if you mix the two: a mud feast!

 

In addition to mucking about with sand and water, you can also let your imagination run wild. For example, why not turn your sandpit into a ‘beach’ and the water basin into a ‘sea’:  a real treat for your LEGO or barbie dolls!

Kinetic sand

A cool alternative for natural sand is kinetic sand. Kinetic sand is fine, soft play sand that you can buy almost everywhere in all kinds of fun colours. This type of sand is less messy because it sticks together better than normal sand, which also makes it easier to use in moulds!

 

Would you like to make your own kinetic sand? You can! Mix eight cups of flour with one cup of baby oil. Add some colour to it with ecoline or food colouring.

 

When the sand and water table bins are filled with kinetic sand, it is also great fun to turn the table into an ice cream parlour. You could even use wooden popsicle sticks, (plastic) cones and an ice cream scoop. How about finishing it off with some disco dip and glitter?

Sawdust or hay

Natural materials such as sawdust or hay are also a real joy to play with in the sand and water table. It not only feels funny, but you can also turn the bins with sawdust and hay into a ‘zoo’ for your animal toys.

EXIT tip: did you know that an EXIT water bin filled with sawdust or hay also serves as a fantastic surprise bin? Get some little presents wrapped up, hide them in the bin and then see which one you can find!

Aquarium

Do you love the underwater world? Create an aquarium with the sand and water table! Fill the water bins with small aquarium pebbles, a lily leaf, plastic frogs or fishes, rubber ducks and other aquarium life.

Autumn materials

In the Autumn you can fill the table with leaves, acorns, pine nuts or chestnuts. This way you can get acquainted with all that autumn has to offer in a fun and playful way.

Shaving cream or hair gel

Who doesn’t love slippery and slimy things? Shaving cream or hair gel are an absolute joy to play with. Both materials are also totally different: hair gel is transparent and firm, while shaving cream can produce a lot of foam! Exciting stuff!

Bubble party!

How about using your sand and water table to make mega bubbles? Use water, dishwashing liquid and sugar to prepare your mixture in the sand and water table. Add two tablespoons of sugar to 400 ml lukewarm water. Stir until all the sugar has been dissolved and then mix in 100 ml of dishwashing liquid.

 

Now that the bubble mixture is ready, you can start searching for large sticks and a piece of rope. Fold the rope in half and tie the outer ends of the rope to the stick. You are now ready to blow huge bubbles with the sticks! In order to blow nice large bubbles, dip the entire rope in the bubble mixture and gently move it in the air. Let the bubble party begin!

 

EXIT tip: the sand and water table is also very suitable for playing an exciting feel and guess game. Fill the bins with different materials and let your friends guess what’s in the bins with a blindfold on!
